The first game release in this partnership will be Battle Axe for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 set for late April 2021. Douglas Bogart Co-Founder of Limited Run Games had this to say: “We’re very excited about our partnership with Numskull Games. We can’t wait to be able to offer Battle Axe to our fans and Numskull fans in North America. We think this is a strong start to the partnership and Battle Axe fits perfectly into the current distributed lineup from LRG”
Battle Axe is a 16-bit hack-n-slash adventure featuring stunning pixel art and tight controls that can be played in either solo or local co-op mode. Developed by Henk Nieborg; a renowned pixel artist and developer with over thirty years in game development, alongside Mike Tucker and the team at Bitmap Bureau. In the February 2021 Numskull Presents, Henk and Mike explained the gameplay and a number of the mechanics available in Battle Axe including the new Infinite mode which keeps the enemies coming thick and fast for added challenge.
